Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition: How to make a PDF Reader

Have you met this problem before? You need to find a PDF file on your computer which you have read it maybe 3 months ago, but only to find that you cannot figure out where the PDF file is. Surely, if there are tons of PDF files on your computer, to find the correct PDF file in a short time makes you headache. Are there any tools that can solve the problem? Are there any applications or tools like Picasa that can browser all pictures on your computer? The answer is YES.

This management of PDF file-PDF Explore may help you a lot. The program is designed to allow for easy management and viewing of PDF files. The search tool makes it easy for accessing to information at a later time.

OK, let’s start manage our PDF files with the PDF Explore via 3 steps.

Step 1, create database in PDF Explore for the PDF files on your computer.

Because PDF files are scattered throughout all disks on your computer, we need to create a database with PDF Explore with your PDF files on your computer. This is done via the direct scanning method, under the DiskTree entry. As folders are navigated, all the PDF files in them are automatically added to the database. To index a disk at once, select the root of the disk and the subfolders checkbox. For example, I’d like to manage the PDF files in the folder “free resources” like below.

create database in PDF Explore for the PDF files on your computer.

And now you’ll find that the PDF files in free resources folder are displayed in the ScanGrid board. You’ll feel surprise when you find the PDF files in the compressed files are showed in the software board. Yes, PDF Explore can index the compressed files.
You can edit the file information like filename, title, subject, author and keywords. After the PDF information completed, you can index the PDF file more conveniently. In the left of this panel, you can see the tab PDF View, Images. Click the PDF View, you can view your PDF files in this tool if you haven’t installed a PDF reader. Click Images, all pictures in the PDF files are extracted out.
Learn how to edit the information, let’s go to the next step.

Besides the management, you may interested in other functions such as merge/split PDF files, watermark PDF files and encrypted PDF files with this tool. Sorry, I don't think there is one. I have this phone, and have tried getting just about every possible type of programs for it, including MS Word lol, but haven't come across a .pdf reader. Ive actually searched this before, and other people say there isn't one available for JM2E (java enabled) phones.

Oh, and the Nokia 6300 WILL read .txt files =)

  10. Deveran says:

Remove adobe. Foxit comes up as my default in firefox but I don't have Adobe Reader installed.

  11. myrtle1beach says:

Go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs. Find your Adobe Reader thing and uninstall it. Open your Program Files folder and delete the folder "Acrobat". Reboot. Connect to the Internet and download the latest Adobe Reader version.

    Hope it helps

I think your phone is S40 based and there arn't any viruses for your phone nor are there any antivirus apps for this reason, if your having probs with the phone then restore it back to factory setting and that should solve the problem. And since your phone is S40 based and supports java apps then as far as i know there arn't any PDF readers that you can download.

  13. srini says:

    You can Foxit reader.

  14. Questioner says:

You can find the Sony PRS-500 on Ebay (used) for about $125 usually.

  15. no_nick says:

The Sony Reader is VERY nice and great for ebooks. Unfortunately, it's also pretty darn expensive.

A cheaper route would be going with the following:

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3224296&Sku=N529-1130

It has a larger screen than most PDAs, half the price of the Sony and also will allow you to download stuff wirelessly from the internet to read.

    Enjoy your ebooks!
