How to make pdf files for free (adobe reader files)

Everyone has access to a computer these days with a powerful word processor, and these programs can produce just about any kind of document. So you might be wondering, why would I want to convert my document into a PDF? Why not just leave it as a .doc or whatever other format my word processing software produces? In fact, there are at least three great reasons for converting your finished documents to PDF – read on to find out what they are. Create to PDF is not difficult now.

#1 Security

While almost anyone can alter a non-password protected word processor file, it takes special software to alter a PDF. So the first reason to convert documents is security. If you convert documents to PDF before emailing them to people outside your company, you’ll know that they are a lot less likely to be maliciously altered. Imagine if you had prepared a legal document – if you send that document as a .doc or similar, the person receiving it could alter it, and this would be hard to detect. Send it as a PDF, and you make this much more difficult.

#2 Ease of access / compatibility

While almost everyone will have a word processing program of some kind, there’s no guarantee that the format you send a document in will be compatible with the program that the receiver has. Even within the same software there can be problems if the version you have is a more recent release that the version that the person receiving your document has. You can avoid all this by converting your document into a PDF before sending it. Programs such as Adobe Acrobat Reader are free to download for everyone, so the person you are sending the document to will always be able to open and view the document as you intended it. Click to Convert has made document conversion process quite easy by lnventing PDF Converter, which is stand alone application for converting document in to PDF or HTML format.

#3 Documents retain their exact appearance

Another big benefit of PDF is that documents you convert look exactly as they did before when you view them as a PDF. Pictures, tables, graphs all look as you intended them – conversion to PDF doesn’t change them in any way. This is perfect if you have a document which includes more than just text.

    1. Use Revo Uninstaller to thoroughly uninstall anything related to Adobe Acrobat. I have a tutorial on my channel named, How-To Thoroughly Uninstall Software in Windows with Revo Uninstaller. You can also uninstall any junk you see on your computer while you are at it

    This guide by Adobe: http://www.adobe.com/epaper/tips/acr5ebook/pdfs/eBook.pdf

says is "a step-by-step guide that covers the basics of creating and
optimizing Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) files so
that they can be viewed as electronic books (eBooks) using the
    free Adobe® Acrobat eBook Reader™ 2.2 software."

However, I believe you will need your document in PDF format already.

To convert a word document into a PDF you need the Adobe Professional version. You can see this article for more information and other ideas: http://www.computingunplugged.com/issues/issue200809/00002236001.html

  12. PT says:

Your question 1 does not make very much sense, since the employer merely wants to file the whole PDF as a graphic file onto his database. There's no need for the employer to actually own Adobe standard or professional to make changes to the text entries. Again, your concern does not make any sense.

Your question 2 seems like a contradiction since most browsers have Acrobat reader and you are saying that the receiving employer doesn't want to receive a PDF. That employer's standard of resume acceptance seems quite limited. And should you send the resume in Word, don't you risk the possibility that the employer may alter the text or lift some of your credentials in order to possibly use in an illegal identify theft. As you stated before, since there is some cost to acquire Adobe standard or professional software [starting around USD275.00], most employers just do not have the Adobe means to change your resume's content and therefore, you can feel a lot safer by simply submitting your resume in PDF to future employers.

    Good luck!

    Good luck!
