The other option is to search the net for softwares that allow you to convert PDF file to TXT file for free. PDF or Portable Document Format files were released in 1993 San Jose, CA. The format allowed for the easy storage and retrieving of large documents. The format soon grew to becoming the weapon of choice for businesses, educators and government.
Being a powerful utility is a double edged sword. Adobe’s Acrobat software is no doubt a very good utility but unfortunately it puts a tremendous pressure on your system resources. System hang-ups and freezing are an everyday issue with the software. Adobe Acrobat software is known to literally crash out older systems with its insane choke hold on system resources. A simple way of evading this nerve wracking scenario is to convert the PDF files to text files. There are multitudes of software that does this for you, including Adobe authorized ones. The benefits of changing a PDF file to .txt is immense, the most important being lesser strain on the system which translates into faster load times. One can save hours of editing and typing by using these converters. PDF files also bring down the file size and render it easy to navigate. PDF files require an Acrobat reader to be viewed. While the reader is free, one requires a net connection to download it. Word documents on the other hand are universal and any Microsoft user can read and manipulate it. There are numerous tools on the net which are more efficient than the adobe authoring tools.
Newbie users can publish the PDF file on the web and use Google’s ability to show a PDF file as HTML to convert the file to TXT. This is a loop hole in the system that allows users to by pass using the Adobe Acrobat software for converting the file. All that the user’s needs to do is to log on to Google and look up on the PDF file. The user will be provided with a link that reads HTML version. Clicking on which lets you view the plain text and the converted HTML version of the PDF file you had just converted.
Many times user wants to convert PDF files into TXT files, unfortunately PDF files aren’t exactly designed for that. A PDF file is essentially a snap shot of a text and not exactly a text. This makes it difficult if not impossible to copy and paste a PDF file into a word document. The immense overhead that the Adobe software uses has led to its diminishing popularity in the last few years. This calls for specialist software that interprets the snap shot and converts it into a Word doc. A typical converter program in the net can cost anything from $20 to $100. Most of these softwares allow a 30 day trial period so that you can try out the software before buying it. If you decide to go for the free ones be wary malicious spyware that often comes attached with these. Just remember to go through a couple of ones to try and get a feel of various features.

There may be a way to do it. You couldn’t do it through this method (using Adobe Digital Editions) as it is only compatible with Sony Reader. However, the old transfer method using Adobe Reader 6 can transfer to PDAs so that might work with a kindle if Adobe recognizes it.
Anyone know how to remove the DRM so it can be viewed on the Kindles?
Yes on the device you can press a magnify button and it can make the font larger. The latest software upgrade provides Small, Medium, Large, and extra large.
can you zoom on PDF files? or enlarge font size?
I know Sony and Overdrive are both working on a mac interface for the Sony Reader. That’s the only think holding it back. This may be announced at the August 25 press conference by Sony.
Very good, but when will the GPDL work for Mac users?
Is it able to handle PDF documents that contain mathemtatical equations?

You can transfer ANY PDF! This example is a download from Overdrive, a digital download service provided by public libraries across the country. With this latest firmware upgrade, you can put any ebook onto the reader.
Safari has a built-in PDF reader, but it's just that – a reader.
Go to Control Panel ->Add or Remove Programs ->Then on the left side of the opened window click on Set Programs Defaults and Access ->Custom and then set it.
OR
Right click on any pdf file.Go to Properties then click change and select or browse Adobe acrobat reader then click ok then apply
Sorry, I don't think there is one. I have this phone, and have tried getting just about every possible type of programs for it, including MS Word lol, but haven't come across a .pdf reader. Ive actually searched this before, and other people say there isn't one available for JM2E (java enabled) phones.
Oh, and the Nokia 6300 WILL read .txt files =)
Remove adobe. Foxit comes up as my default in firefox but I don't have Adobe Reader installed.
Go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs. Find your Adobe Reader thing and uninstall it. Open your Program Files folder and delete the folder "Acrobat". Reboot. Connect to the Internet and download the latest Adobe Reader version.
Hope it helps
Steve
I think your phone is S40 based and there arn't any viruses for your phone nor are there any antivirus apps for this reason, if your having probs with the phone then restore it back to factory setting and that should solve the problem. And since your phone is S40 based and supports java apps then as far as i know there arn't any PDF readers that you can download.
You can Foxit reader.
You can find the Sony PRS-500 on Ebay (used) for about $125 usually.
The Sony Reader is VERY nice and great for ebooks. Unfortunately, it's also pretty darn expensive.
A cheaper route would be going with the following:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3224296&Sku=N529-1130
It has a larger screen than most PDAs, half the price of the Sony and also will allow you to download stuff wirelessly from the internet to read.
Enjoy your ebooks!
