create pdf with adobe reader 9

PDF (Portable Document Format) was introduced by Adobe a couple of years ago. It spread fast around the world, becoming one of the most popular file formats available. PDF files can be read with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, but also with other specialized programs, no matter if you are on Windows, UNIX or another operating system.

PDF files became so popular because of their advantages over other file formats. I explained that they can be viewed on about any computer. Then, their file size is considerably smaller than a similar Word document. This is happening because on creation, images can be compressed, or converted to other format. A big problem for users is text fonts. If you write your Word documents using a fancy font, another person might not be able to view that document, because he doesn’t have that particular font installed on his computer. With PDF files that problem is gone; fonts are embedded into the file, making it viewable for anyone.

Another powerful benefit of the PDF files is security. How many times you wanted to make sure your work is not modified, or even stolen. Now, it’s easy to protect your files with a password and 128 bits encryption.

Creating PDF files is quite easy. There are main 2 ways:

First one would be to make it from scratch. You start with a blank page, and add text and graphics the same way you do when you are working with Microsoft Word. At the end, create your bookmarks, choose security options and save the output PDF. Project can be saved and the work continued later if you have something else to add.

But, what happens if you already have your documents written in another text editor, like Microsoft Word. Using copy and paste to transfer your work into the PDF editor is an option, but it could lead to problems.

The best solution would be to use a PDF Conversion tool that will make a PDF file using your existing files as input. This is the second way to create PDF files, and maybe the easiest. The main advantage is that you don’t have to change the way you work. The only modification is that at the end, you convert your files into PDF.

It might look difficult, but it’s not. The majority of the PDF conversion tools use a PDF printer. This means that they convert to PDF by “printing” your files. Actually, this brings a lot of new options, because printing is available in wide range of applications. This means you can print to PDF from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and virtually any program that allows it.

I always prefer the second way.

    Hi Brian,
You can combine multiple PDFs into one with PDF Merge and Split:http://www.allpdftools.com/pdf-merge-split.html
It can help you merge multiple PDFs from different source into one, and also can help you split one PDF to multiple PDFs if needed. Just have a try.
    Hope it helps.

PS: Adobe Reader is free but it just can be used to read PDF but not able to edit PDF.

You should choose the best format available on the most platforms, you might also consider the target for who will be reading it.

I would not use Microsoft word. If you're creating a technical manual, you should seriously consider DocBook (it's an XML format) with docbook, you have the option to convert to different formats.

If you want to stay "on the cheap" and you're technically inclined, mac (OS X) ships with a tool called 'groff' MANY published books were actually written using troff (which groff is based on) however, it is a bit antiquated and requires you to know a about troff directives. (groff/troff is my personal favorite – but I'm a bit of a geek)

The important thing is that these ebooks be available on the majority of platforms. Plain text is by far the most universal, but has no support for fonts, images or anything other than the character set.

As far as selling them, if you want to sell them on your own using paypal, you'll need to look into IPN, which is how paypal notifies your website that so-and-so's payment went through. After a successful IPN, your website should allow them to download the file.

Basically, your visitor clicks a "buy now" button, they're forwarded to paypal, paypal sends a request "behind the scenes" of who made the payment.

When the visitor returns to your website after a visit to paypal, IPN enabled software on YOUR site enables them to download the product.

I make a free support class available for anyone wishing to develop their own paypal ecommerce solutions:

It requires some programming though. It's especially important to make sure the IPN was "valid" otherwise, a person could pretend to be paypal, faking an IPN notification, bypassing the payment.

If you don't wish to write this yourself, you can install pre-written software for the job.

    (Full disclosure, I own PayVeX)

There are other tools out there for the job as well, the thing to look for is an IPN handler.

  11. yup, you've got a quad core there, with a decent graphics card..the most graphically intense game u've stated is Call of duty 4..and thats more than enough to run that….i suggest you visit ..

Nope your Video Card is too low end. Like the guy said, you need minimum 6800 and thats only for the lowest settings. At least high-end Geforce 8 or mid-Geforce 9 to play at max settings.

I would say the "All In Wonder" series from ATI/Visiontek would be best for you if you're not gaming but going towards more of a media center. It has the HDTV tuner(video capture) and has the DVI slots(use an DVI-HDMI adapter and then use the audio out from your comp). Listing a price range would be of great use, as there are better cards. Whatever card you get should be a PCI-Express 2.0 x16.
