Help answer the question aboutpdf reader

Why is it that, when i try to copy/paste images from adobe reader pdf to paint, they paste completely black?
whenever i try to copy an image in a pdf file from adobe reader to paint on my computer, when i paste all that pastes is a big black square. I often do this on other computers without issue. Has anyone fixed this problem before? What should I do? This is for my work, and therefore means a lot to me. I greatly appreciate any advice anyone can give.
